This Privacy Policy describes how Ralzen Labs LLC ("Company," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, processes, shares, and protects your information when you use the Macrite mobile application, website, and related services (collectively, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
1. Interpretation and Definitions
Interpretation
Words with capitalized initial letters have meanings defined below. These definitions apply regardless of whether they appear in singular or plural form.
Definitions
- Account means the unique account created for you to access the Service.
- Application means the Macrite mobile application, available on iOS and Android.
- Company (referred to as "we," "us," or "our") means Ralzen Labs LLC. Ralzen Labs LLC is the data controller responsible for your Personal Data.
- Device means any device that can access the Service, such as a phone or tablet.
- Health Data means information related to your physical health, nutrition, or fitness, including meal logs, weight measurements, hydration logs, and dietary preferences. Certain categories may qualify as health information or sensitive personal information under applicable privacy laws.
- Personal Data means any information that identifies or can reasonably be linked to an individual.
- Service Provider means any person or company that processes data on behalf of the Company to facilitate the Service.
- Third-Party Service Provider means an external company whose services we integrate to operate the Application. Current Third-Party Service Providers include Firebase (Google) for authentication and analytics, RevenueCat for subscription management, and Sentry for crash and performance monitoring.
- Third-Party AI Provider means an external artificial intelligence service that may process anonymized requests on our behalf. Current providers are Google (Gemini API), OpenAI, and Groq (AI inference).
- Usage Data means data collected automatically through use of the Service, such as session duration and feature interactions.
- User Content means photos, images, text, food entries, or other inputs you upload or submit through the Service.
- You means the individual accessing or using the Service.
2. Information We Collect
Account Information
- Name (collected during onboarding and from your Apple or Google account if you sign in)
- Email address (if you sign in with Apple or Google)
- Apple may provide a private relay email address
- A randomized identifier may be used locally for app functionality
Subscription Information
- Your subscription status (active, expired, or free) is managed through RevenueCat using an anonymized account identifier
- We do not collect or store payment card details. All transactions are processed by Apple through the App Store
Health & Nutrition Data
- Date of birth, gender, weight, height
- Target weight and weekly weight goal
- Activity level and exercise frequency
- Dietary preferences (e.g., vegetarian, vegan, keto)
- Restricted ingredients (e.g., peanuts, shellfish)
- Meal frequency and meal pattern preferences
All Health Data is stored locally on your Device. We do not maintain a central database of your personal health records. The Service cannot function properly without basic nutrition data such as food entries and profile measurements.
Meal & Food Data
- Meal logs including food items, nutritional values, timestamps, and meal category
- Individual food item details: name, calories, macros, quantity, and serving sizes
- Favorite meals and saved meal plans
- Barcode scan results
- Meal source tracking (scan, manual entry, voice, barcode, label, menu, pantry)
Weight & Hydration Logs
- Weight entries with date and optional notes
- Progress photos associated with weight entries
- Hydration logs (amount in ml, timestamp)
- Hydration settings (cup size, daily cup goal)
Pantry Data
- Pantry ingredient names you add for meal planning
Food Photos & User Content
- Photos you take for meal, menu, pantry, or label analysis are securely transmitted to our servers for processing. We do not permanently store your photos.
- When you use AI-powered features, only the minimal context needed for that specific request is transmitted.
Device Information & Usage Data
- Anonymized usage events and feature interactions (via Firebase Analytics)
- Anonymized user properties: goal type, activity level, exercise frequency, and macro preference. No gender, weight, or personally identifiable values
- Crash reports, performance metrics (e.g., screen load times), device type, and OS version (via Sentry)
- This data cannot identify you and is never combined with your Health Data
3. Device Permissions
We request access only when needed for a specific feature:

We do not access any of these permissions in the background.
4. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain the Service
- Analyze food images and text you submit for nutritional information
- Generate personalized meal suggestions and nutrition insights
- Manage your Account and subscription
- Monitor and improve app stability through anonymous crash logs
- Communicate with you regarding support requests or policy changes
We do not use your Health Data for advertising, user profiling, cross-app tracking, or analytics.
Our legal basis for processing Personal Data is your consent and the necessity of processing to provide the Service you request.
5. AI-Powered Features and Third-Party AI
To deliver food analysis and nutrition insights, the Application sends your request to our own backend servers. Our backend may process the request using our own proprietary models, or selectively route it to the following Third-Party AI Providers:
- Google (Gemini API)
- OpenAI
- Groq (AI inference)
You are asked for explicit consent before any data is processed by Third-Party AI Providers, in compliance with Apple's App Store guidelines. You can withdraw this consent at any time from Settings > AI-Powered Analysis, which will disable AI features until you re-enable them.
What is sent to AI Providers
- Only the minimal, isolated context required for the specific request (e.g., a food image and a general dietary preference)
- No Personal Data. Your name, email, user ID, or any personal identifier is never transmitted to any AI Provider
What is NOT sent to External or Third-Party AI Providers
- Your account information or identity
- Any data that could be used to identify you
Data Handling by AI Providers
Third-Party AI Providers may temporarily retain request data for safety and abuse monitoring per their own terms:
- Google Gemini API — may retain logs for a limited period for abuse monitoring. Data & Privacy Terms
- OpenAI API — retains logs for up to 30 days for abuse monitoring. Data Usage Policies
- Groq API (AI inference) — Zero Data Retention (ZDR) is enabled on our account, meaning no request data is ever logged or stored by Groq. Privacy Policy
6. Data Sharing and Third Parties
We do not sell, rent, or trade your Personal Data. We do not share data with data brokers. The only third parties that receive any data from us:

Firebase Analytics and Authentication data is completely separate from any data routed to Google's AI models. These are independent data flows with no cross-linking.
We do not sell or share personal information as defined by the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA).
7. Tracking, Advertising, and App Tracking Transparency
We do not request or require App Tracking Transparency (ATT) authorization because we do not track users across apps or websites owned by other companies.
- We do not display third-party advertisements
- We do not share data with data brokers
- We do not use your data for targeted advertising or cross-app profiling
8. Data Retention
- Health Data: Stored exclusively on your Device for as long as you use the Service. Deleted when you delete your account or uninstall the Application.
- Food Photos: Not permanently stored on our servers.
- AI Provider Data: Third-Party AI Providers may temporarily retain anonymized request data for safety and abuse monitoring only. Google retains logs for a limited period; OpenAI retains logs for up to 30 days; Groq retains zero data (ZDR enabled). See provider links in Section 5 for full details.
- Analytics Data: Anonymized usage data may be retained in aggregate form to improve the Service. This data cannot identify you.
- Account Data: Retained for the duration of your account. Permanently deleted upon account deletion request.
9. Data Security
We implement reasonable technical, organizational, and administrative safeguards designed to protect your Personal Data and Health Data from unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, and destruction. These measures include encryption of data in transit, secure authentication protocols, and access controls on our infrastructure.
No method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We follow industry-standard security practices including HTTPS/TLS encryption and restricted production access.
10. Account Deletion and Your Rights
Account Deletion
You can permanently delete your account at any time from Settings > Delete Account. Deletion is processed immediately and this action:
- Removes all local Health Data from your Device
- Permanently deletes your authentication record
- Removes your identity from our payment processor (RevenueCat)
Important: Deleting your account does not cancel an active subscription. Subscriptions are managed by Apple through the App Store. To cancel, go to your iPhone Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions before deleting your account.
You may also request deletion by emailing support@macrite.app. Email requests are processed within 30 days.
Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- Access, correct, or delete your Personal Data
- Withdraw consent for data processing
- Request a portable copy of your data
- Opt out of certain data uses

Uninstalling the App
Simply uninstalling the Application removes all local Health Data and nutrition records from your Device.
11. Children's Privacy
The Service is intended for users aged 18 and older. The Application enforces this requirement during account setup. We do not knowingly collect Personal Data or Health Data from anyone under 18. If we become aware that a person under 18 has provided us with Personal Data, we will take steps to delete that information promptly.
12. International Data Transfers
Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries outside your own, including the United States, by our Service Providers. We ensure that appropriate technical and contractual safeguards are in place to protect your data in compliance with applicable data protection regulations.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or legal requirements. Changes take effect upon posting with a revised "Last Updated" date. For material changes (such as the addition of new Third-Party AI Providers or changes to how we handle Health Data) we will notify you within the Application.
